The committee met on Wednesday 14th October at The New Inn, Walton. Here are the main points:
- A busy September: It was another brilliant month for the club. Highlights included the Leeds Country Way Relay, Simon Bennett finishing the 330km Tor des Géants, and Stewart Haigh winning the Contribution to Athletics Community award at the England Athletics North awards.
- Membership: We welcomed 9 new members, bringing the club to 343. The deadline for 2027 subscriptions has been extended to 31st March 2027, so you can budget after Christmas and the Awards Night. Fee details will be posted on the website.
- Club Grand Prix 2027: The fixture list is almost ready. A sub-committee will review the rules and leagues.
- Events: The Autumn Handicap went well, and thanks go to everyone who helped. Entries for the Winter Handicap will open on Webscorer. A Webscorer page will also let you opt out of receiving your age-grading award. Planning for the PECO race is under way, and there will be a call for marshals in November.
- Club kit: The committee is looking at kit supplier options.
- Brass Monkey: We won a club ballot place. The draw takes place at training on Tuesday 20th October, among those who have shared their rejection emails.
- AGM: Preparation begins next month, ahead of the AGM on 17th February 2027.
