Committee Meeting September 2026

ARR Committee Meeting Summary – 9th September 2026

The committee met at The New Inn, Walton, with a full agenda covering club finances, membership, events and planning for 2027.

Finances: The Priory 10K made a profit of £2,452.29 (with £1,200 proposed to Nostell Trust), and the Ken Bingley 10K raised £1,050.32, split between the two charities nominated by the Bingley family.

Membership: The club now stands at 335 members. A new fee structure for 2027 was agreed, including a rise in concession membership fees to £35 and social membership to £12, reflecting fairer contributions relative to England Athletics costs.

2027 Grand Prix: A first draft of the 2027 GP calendar was discussed, built around half marathons, 10-milers and community favourites suggested by members on Facebook. Shaun Furzer was co-opted onto the committee to lead on finalising the GP programme.

Event reviews: Great feedback for the Ken Bingley 10K, Pramfest, the LCW and the Autumn Handicap, with plenty of ideas already banked for 2027 — including a possible venue change for KB10K and a junior element for Pramfest.

Llama League: Over 280 volunteer points were awarded to 117 members this quarter, with five new run leaders welcomed.

Trail Series: More than 70 members took part in at least one trail race this year — a great turnout, with discussion on folding more trail races into the GP going forward.

Succession planning: With the AGM set for 1st December, several committee members have confirmed they’re willing to stand again, but nominations and role descriptions are still needed — so get in touch if you’re interested in getting involved!

Upcoming meeting dates: 14th October, 11th November, 9th December, 13th January, 10th February, with the AGM on 17th February.
