Another busy month for ARR! Highlights from July’s committee meeting include:
- Racing and events: Members took on the Barnsley Boundary Relay, the Darrington Five Mile Grand Prix race, our Summer Handicap (nearly 80 runners despite the heat!), a Nostell parkrun takeover, and plenty more races and trail runs. Congratulations to all our prize winners, and to Mark on his retirement!
- New members: A warm welcome to the 8 new first-claim members who’ve joined the club since our last meeting, plus several more currently trialling with us.
- Membership: The club now stands at 329 members.
- Finances: The Treasurer confirmed a healthy bank balance, with routine income and expenditure recorded for the month, including race expenses for the Priory 10K.
- Looking ahead: Planning is underway for the Ken Bingley 10K, the Vets’ Race, and next year’s events, along with a review of kit suppliers and hot-weather training guidelines.
